The ADELs have a newly-elected executive council for the 2011 year!
- President: Matt Williams
- Vice-President: Ryan Anderson
- Secretary: Jonathan Becker
- Treasurer: Ben Henderson
- Chaplain: Dan Porterfield
This December, the ADELs hosted a celebration of Festivus (the fictional holiday from Seinfeld) with the men of the Beta Sigma fraternity. The event included airings of grievances, feats of strength (arm-wrestling, leg-wrestling and Super Smash Brothers), dancing, food and, of course, the Festivus pole. Hundreds of students came out for a break from studying and for a chance for a little bit of fun and the night concluded with a feats of strength showdown between the Beta president and newly-elected ADEL president Matthew Williams. Matt was victorious in arm wrestling, but was eventually beaten in a tie-breaker grappling match. The fraternity hopes that the Festivus celebration will become a campus tradition.
Fall Party 2010
Dec 18th, 2010 by dayne
This November, the brothers of the Adelphikos traveled up to New York to visit Niagara Falls for Fall Party. Friday night was spent relaxing at the home of Shaun Gendrue and Saturday was spent exploring Niagara Falls. The brothers viewed the falls up close before taking a hike down into the Niagara gorge. While hiking, some of the ADELs did a little exploring, including a bit of an attempt at spelunking that ended when the cave turned out to be a dead end.
Homecoming 2010
Dec 18th, 2010 by dayne
The ADELs spent Homecoming 2010 much like those of years past. The day began with the fraternity claiming its fifth straight victory in the homecoming parade float competition, with a Star Wars themed float built with the sisters of Sigma Theta Chi. The float featured a 10-foot Death Star, the Millennium Falcon, a moving R2D2, Darth Vader, Jedi and Storm Troopers – and, of course, Star Wars theme music. After the parade, the Adelphikos brothers spent the day eating and talking with alumni and playing a few good games of crush. Later in the afternoon, Holly, a sister of Sigma Delta Phi, was given the honor of becoming ADEL sweetheart for the year. As it usually is, homecoming was a fun event for all involved, and the ADELs look forward to seeing our alumni again in future years. The 100th is only a couple years away!
Homecoming less than 3 weeks away!
Sep 22nd, 2010 by dayne
Grove City’s homecoming this year will be the weekend of October 9th. As usual, the Adels are planning on having a tent for alumni on the quad with food, memorabilia and conversation. Additionally, the frat has begun work on a homecoming float with the sisters of Sigma Theta Chi. They hope to keep their 5 year winning streak alive.
If you are an Adel alum, please consider coming up! We would love to meet you, talk with you, or just play some Krush.
Adels Start Semester Off Right
Sep 22nd, 2010 by dayne
This labor day weekend, the Adelphikos took advantage of beautiful weather and time off from school to start the semester with a number of festivities. The brothers hosted a cookout outside Lincoln dormitory with barbecue chicken, watermelon and homemade ice cream. And, of course, many games of Krush were played.
The Adels also enjoyed seeing a number of recent alumni on campus for the long weekend. While they were on campus, the group took the opportunity to creek Luke Juday ’10 after his recent engagement. He was caught completely off-guard by an ambush in front of Rockwell Hall and dumped in the frigid waters of Wolf Creek in traditional Grover fashion.
